Nan Greer began her yoga adventure in 2007 on the advice of the surgeon after a knee surgery. She has practiced regularly with curiosity, determination and cheerfulness ever since. Her love of the practice and her desire to share what she had discovered via her yoga practice encoouraged her to attend her first 200-hour Teacher Training with Jen Ryan at the YogaLoft in Wilmington, MA.
Nan has continued to train and develop her teaching skills and style through trainings with Baron Baptise, Tricia Philpott, Gregor Singleton and Claire Este-MacDonald, David Magone, Alice RIccardi, Elizabeth Huntsman DeAngelis, Rolf Gates, Philip Urso, Teri-Leigh Schmidt. Michael Taylor, co-founder of Strala Yoga in NYC, along with his wife, Tara Stiles, has shown Nan how to incorporate "ease" into her own practice as well as into her teaching. Nan had previously, before yoga, trained as an AFFAA group fitness instructor teaching Cardio-Kick, Body Pump and Reebok Step. NEVER thinking that yoga would become the central guiding way to live her life. Nan is intent on continuing to be a transformation in progress and to share that positive energy with her students.
As a Yoga Alliance certified ERYT 200, Nan brings her experience, her acquired and innate knowledge, her passion for yoga as well as a joyful and playful attitude to her students in every class she attends as both teacher and student. Nan shares her discovery that yoga exposes the essential tools for living an extraordinary life from this principle: "To make others less happy is a crime. To make ourselves unhappy is where all crime starts." - Roger Ebert
