Intention and Being: Vinyasa Session with Rolf Gates

Friday, March 17: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

In this asana based session we will explore being grounded into our practice and inspired in our lives.  We will allow our practice to give voice to the great heart within us.  The session will include Vinyasa, meditation and lecture/discussion.  The yoga will be a synergy of the freedom of a powerful vinyasa class and the structural integrity of yoga's therapeautic alignment principles.  The intensive is intentionally challenge but open to all who wish to explore yoga as an evolutionary journey.  The only 'requirement' is that you show up, do your best and let your best be good enough.

Being Still with Skill: The Power of Meditation Workshop with Rolf Gates

Yoga is the cultivation of inner space and the ability to use it well. In this meditation workshop, Rolf will describe the opportunity presented to us in the teachings of the Buddha and Patanjali. This experiential workshop will explore how these great contributions to consciousness weave beautifully together to enhance the quality of our daily lives. This will be in lecture discussion form and guided meditation experience with support in beginning or building on your own meditation practice.

Rolf Gates, author of the acclaimed books on yogic philosophy, Meditations from the Mat: Daily Reflections on the Path of Yoga, and the newly released: Meditations on Intention and Being: Daily Reflections on the Path of Yoga, Mindfulness and Compassion, conducts yoga workshops, retreats, teacher trainings, and coaching and mentorship programs throughout the U.S. and abroad--and online. Rolf and his work have been featured in numerous media, including Yoga Journal, ORGINS, Natural Health, People Magazine, and Travel and Leisure's 25 Top Yoga Studios in the World. Rolf is the co-founder of the Yoga, Meditation and Recovery Conference at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts and a teacher at Spirit Rock Insight Meditation Center in Northern CA. Please join Willa and Ida Jo in a beautiful afternoon of glorious live music and vinyasa at Solstice Power Yoga.  All together we will meditate and move in a warm (not hot) multilevel vinyasa class designed to open your hips, hearts, and yes, your wallets!   Class will end with an extended guided savasana and a special loving kindness meditation.  Come on in and support YOGA REACHES OUT/Team North Shore Yogis and the children and parent programs at Boston Children's Hospital.  All money raised contributes directly to YRO, taking place at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, May 1st.

In a Bryan Kest Power Yoga workshop you encouraged to focus on the process and not the end result.  This allows ALL levels of yoga practitioners to enjoy the benefit from this workshop.

Bryan's Power Yoga Workshop typically includes:

Samuel Robinson is an E-RYT 500-hour Baptiste Certified instructor and a graduate of Baptiste Institute’s Fit To Lead program. He has been teaching yoga and leading many workshops and programs at the Baptiste Yoga Boston studios for the past four years.  In addition to teaching locally, he is regularly on the core team of leaders that produce the Baptiste Institute training programs and events.

Samuel has dedicated his life to sharing the study and practice of yoga, meditation and inquiry. This passion led him to create a Baptiste yoga program for inmates at Suffolk County house of corrections- that he has been volunteering and leading for the past few years.

With his infectious kindness and generous presence you can expect to be inspired, challenged and uplifted by his classes and programs that are rigorous, humorous, and heartfelt.
