Tell us about yourself?  What brought you to the North Shore?
I am a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and more.  I am the oldest of five and still act like the big sister.  Other than yoga I enjoy walking and reading.
I work at Winchester Hospital in x-ray and teach Introduction to Radiology and Radiologic Physics at Middlesex Community College.  I also work per diem for Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare for Wellness Events.
Do you see the theme? ... Helping people!

What/who brought you to yoga?
My little sister, Maureen Miller, who I look up to, has practiced for over 15 years and she owned a studio in Concord, NH.  She is the one that I have to thank for making me aware of all that is available to us and how to live yoga on and off the mat.  I graduated from my teacher training, thru her program, Yoga NH.

Why did you want to become a yoga teacher?
Well, to be honest I never thought I would teach, I was doing it for my own practice. Then one day at my teacher training a conversation was taking place about kids and yoga.  That was the end of it.  From that moment, I have had a passion to bring yoga, mindfulness and empowerment to kids.

Why do you teach now?
I teach because I LOVE it.  It is so rewarding to watch kids of all ages practice and grow.
They are more receptive than you might think.  And you might be surprised to know that
in every class I teach the most incredible moment is savasana!

What are some things  for which you are grateful?
I am most grateful for my grandson Connor, he brings joy to me every day.
I am grateful that I was raised in a family with good morals.
It has given me the foundation to build a life of which I am proud.
I try to live every moment mindfully ... we do not get do-overs.
I am grateful to have this opportunity to teach kids how to breathe and take a moment to enjoy the little things  in life ... a ladybug, a rain storm or a pile of sand ... they need this time to explore.

Fun Facts about you?
I worked in a dental office for 32 years. I landed the job, at age 17,
when I went to have a cavity filled.  When I arrived the office was busy.
The girl at the desk, Mary, said to the dentist "I need help."
He looked at me and said,  "Sharon, you start working here tomorrow."
And so the story goes ...
I went back to college when I was 50; we are never too old
to learn something new!
I have one child and one grandchild and I adore both.
My favorite thing to do is to help others.
I love to dance and often dance alone.|
Oh, and I sing in the car-alone and out loud!
My first car had push buttons for drive, reverse ... etc.
One day I hope to teach a workshop at Omega Institute in NY and at
Canyon Ranch.
I am writing a children's book; actually a few ...
