A letter from 2018 Yoga Reaches Out Presenter, Kadri Kurgun and

2016 Yoga Reaches Out Presenter, Willa Worsfold:

Darlings:

Beyond the fun, non pressure, super supportive and deliciousness of Kadri

and his Acro Yoga for All Levels....

Are the tools and techniques we as teachers can use with our students, our employers, our work and love partners, and our community around us.

How do you support and help others? Are you generous in both speech AND listening?

Can you ask for what you need, on the mat and in your life?

Please come to nurture your mind and your heart. I can't change studio policy and say "money back guarantee",

but I can promise you free wings at the door when you arrive.

Jump!! I'll catch you!

With Love and Encouragement-

TESTIMONIALS

"I wanted to personally thank you for the amazing experience I have had over the last 6 months. You and my fellow trainees have had such an impact on my life in a short period of time. I have learned so much from you and I will carry all of that knowledge with me everyday. Before I started training I had such a different outlook on life and was always wondering why nothing was working out the way I had hoped. Ever since our first weekend together training, my life has completely changed. (I know it sounds dramatic) BUT it is very true. Everything is finally coming together and I cannot thank you enough for giving me the skills I needed to make all of this happen. I am truly a better person because of this training and I am honored to have spent the last 6 months learning from someone who is such an inspiration to not only me but many other people. With all my heart,  thank you so much!"

Yin Yoga and Insight Meditation: The Art of Letting Go:
Sep

Yin Yoga and Insight Meditation: The Art of Letting Go:

Yin Yoga and Insight Meditation: The Art of Letting Go:  with Josh Summers at Empower Yoga, Beverly

“Do everything with a mind that lets go. Don’t accept praise or gain or anything else. If you let go a little you a will have a little peace; if you let go a lot you will have a lot of peace; if you let go completely you will have complete peace. ”
 Ajahn Chah

As a practice cue, “let go” runs the risk of being one of the greatest spiritual clichés.  And yet, when fully understood and implemented with skill, “letting go” encapsulates one of the greatest lessons on the spiritual journey.

This workshop of Yin Yoga and Insight Meditation will explore three aspects of “letting go”:

1.    Letting go of our tendency to inhabit either the future or past.

2.    Letting go of our incessant demands that this moment be anything other than it is.

3.    Letting go, ultimately, of the sense of self that tries so hard, paradoxically, to let go.

Come enjoy the pleasure and peace of letting go!

Yin Yoga and Insight Meditation: Finding the Missing Peace

The spiritual journey promises a movement from noise to silence, from agitation to calm, from complexity to simplicity. But, ultimately, it is our inner orientation to that journey, not the practices themselves, that determines whether or not we will reach our destination.

Within the practices of Yin Yoga and Buddhist Insight Meditation, Josh will offer clear guidance for directing one's attention and energy towards the serenity and peace in the here and now regardless of the chaos in the world around or within you.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a complementary yoga practice to more dynamic and active yoga styles. In Yin Yoga, floor postures are held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive ‘stress’ on the deeper layers of connective tissue in the body.

Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees. Energetically, Yin Yoga opens the body’s meridian system, which enhances the body’s energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium.

Yin Yoga emphasizes stillness and silence. The practice prepares both the body and mind for deeper experiences in meditation.

Josh’s Bio

Josh Summers is a Yin Yoga teacher, a licensed acupuncturist, and a meditation instructor. Josh began studying Iyengar yoga in the early nineties with James Murphy in New York City. Since then, he has spent several years living abroad in India, Taiwan and Burma where he has studied both yoga and meditation. As his interest in vipassana or insight meditation developed so too did his interest in more contemplative forms of yoga practice. With a professional background in Oriental Medicine and a personal passion for the dharma, Josh fell in love with Yin Yoga as a beautiful synthesis of the two.

Josh now teaches workshops and trainings throughout the United States and Europe. For more information, please visit his website: www.joshsummers.net

Lizzie Muse. lululemon. Lynnfield, MA

Martha Buchanan-Forte. Newburyport, MA

“The first thing that comes to mind at an Emily Wiswell restorative workshop is, THOUGHTFUL. From her hands on assists, to her being mindful of bringing her friends to class (I'm talking about her essential oils!),  to the live music, she makes you feel right at hOMe as you ease deeply in the long held poses. Her class is a must add to anyone's weekly schedule and whenever I can, I make my way to any event she holds! A true yogi.”

Emily Wiswell's restorative yoga class is a unique experience and one that should not be missed! The synergy of her excellent instruction brings yoga to another level. The practice ends with a guided meditation that is powerful and transporting. You will leave this class feeling totally refreshed! - Martha Buchanan-Forte

Fundamentals of Assisting

In this training you will learn to assist yoga students of all levels of ability using basic universal principles of alignment. You will learn the “energetics” of assisting and practice cultivating just the right “touch” needed to keep students safe and enhance their overall experience in the classroom.

This is an interactive “hands-on” workshop.  Actions speak louder than words.  If you’re a teacher, learn to impact your students directly and immediately with the touch of your hands.  This workshop is also suitable for anyone interested in deepening their own personal practice thru the study of alignment. Aspiring classroom assistants, teachers and yoga students of all levels of experience can benefit from this program.

Teaching Yoga to Beginners Workshop

Sunday April 2nd 12:30-4pm

Join Jeanne Magazu to learn the fundamentals of Teaching Beginners Yoga.

Teaching yoga to beginners takes a specific skill set. So many people give yoga a try ONCE and then never return because of that initial experience. This workshop will give you the tools needed to successfully teach beginners power vinyasa yoga AND more importantly; to get them to come back to your class.  You will learn thru discussion, asana practice, and sharing from your own experiences how to connect with and inspire people brand new to yoga.

This workshop is open to all who want to learn to effectively share their love of yoga with those who are just getting started.
